This is the inaugural issue of Lighting Installed in New Dwellings. It expands our coverage of building materials used and appliances installed by residential builders in their construction of new detached dwellings.

The primary objective of Lighting Installed in New Dwellings is to provide a picture of the levels of installation of light fittings, lamps and lighting control systems in new residential detached dwellings.

It is an area where little data has been gathered through independent primary research.  We aim to fill this gap.

We surveyed 101 residential builders of detached housing across Australia during September 2007. The results were then weighted by builder size and location, to reflect new residential commencements to December 2007.
